PGP Basics

PGP is the difference between a signed mirror list and a paste. It also means a stolen password is not the whole account. Enable it after you land from a research page — not from an ad.

This page is not a full cryptography course. It is the reason this desk keeps saying “2FA” on every brand page. Clone kits steal passwords. They have a harder time if the market also wants a decrypt of a challenge that only your key can open.

• Import the market’s public key from a source you already trust, not the first Bing hit.
• Check signed mirror posts when they exist. If the signature fails, keep the last known-good bookmark and return to the brand page on this desk.
• Turn on PGP 2FA before you treat the session as standing.
• Practice a signature on a throwaway message so you know the tool works before you need it.
